Checklist and guidelines on writing a good proposal
1. Does the topic meet the Trust’s criteria? Does the topic fall within social, occupational or organisational psychology? Is the proposed study novel/innovative and with high potential social impact?
2. Does the rationale for the study build on and extend current literature? Have you clearly demonstrated a gap in the literature and/or other reason why the research is needed?
3. Are your aims and objectives clear? Would a non academic understand them? Do the aims state what you want to find out and not just what you want to do?
4. Have you shown how your methods can address the aims and objectives
5. Have you described any steps taken to ensure that you will have access to research sites for field work?
6. Have you described how you will analyse the data collected?
7. Have you explained how the research will contribute to knowledge and generate new insights relevant to policy and practice.
8. Have you described what you will do to ensure that the findings have maximum social impact?
11. Have you signed the form and obtained the signature of a representative of your university or other employing institution?
